Is plant fat powder a trans fatty acid

When it comes to liposuction powder, people tend to associate it with trans fatty acids, and even equate it with trans fatty acids. In fact, liposuction powder is not equivalent to trans fatty acids. The raw material of vegetable fat powder contains hydrogenated vegetable oil.

Hydrogenated vegetable oil is made from vegetable oil through hydrogenation process. The hydrogenation of vegetable oil is an operation that increases the melting point of the oil by adding hydrogen to unsaturated bonds. Liquid vegetable oil does not have a good crisping effect, but after hydrogenation, it becomes semi-solid at room temperature.

In addition, hydrogenated vegetable oil has relatively stable chemical properties and can extend its shelf life, making it widely used in the food industry.

If the hydrogenation of vegetable oil is not complete, some double bonds will transform from their natural cis structure to trans structure, resulting in the production of some trans fatty acids. Therefore, due to the hydrogenation process, trans fatty acids may be present in the plant fat powder, but the plant fat powder itself is not a trans fatty acid. Simply treating plant fat powder or creamer as trans fatty acids is inaccurate.

Incomplete hydrogenation of vegetable oil will produce trans fatty acids. If fully hydrogenated, trans fatty acids will not be produced, but rather saturated fats. Therefore, fully hydrogenated vegetable oils do not contain trans fatty acids.
